Love the New Camera

At my son's soccer game today, a teammate's sister was running around the field gathering flowers and petting a playful pup. I had my camera in hand so I couldn't help but get some fun shots. Of course I got plenty of shot's of Ryan playing his game too. I bought a new camera this week so it was fun to try it out... it's a Canon Power shot SX110 IS and I'm very pleased with the results!

More 8x8 Scrapbook Fun

It's a dreary Friday night in Colorado... Perfect weather for scrapbooking. I'll look for any excuse! I'm putting together an 8x8 book of my niece and nephew for my trip to home in late May. I'm sure they will get a kick out of the seeing themselves in the book. I have to hand it to Close To My Heart for their wonderful paper packets and stickers. It makes my job easy as I don't have to worry about matching stickers, papers and letters. It's all right in front of me! I always use my Cricut to add extras.

Make a Wish

I love this picture of my niece! I asked her if she would mind letting me take some pictures for a scrapbook that I was making for her and she went along with it and even jazzed it up by putting her own spin on the poses!

Good Times

I bought the CTMH Good Times paper packet some time ago because I loved the colors - chocolate, sweet leaf, buttercup and twilight! It's primarily a birthday/celebration packet but it worked with Sean's pictures that I took of him last month He rarely likes his picture taken but that day he was quite cooperative. FOURTEEN is an interesting age! But I wouldn't trade him for the world. I used my new sewing machine to stitch some of the edges but it's hard to tell w/ the busy paper design.

Stitching on Scrapbook Pages

I bought a new toy today... a sewing machine... purposely for scrapbooking. I've been admiring stitched scrapbook pages and cards for years so I caved in and bought the machine. There are stamps and other items that resemble stitching but this time I wanted the real thing. Although the first hour of setting up the machine was not so much fun! My husband had to rethread the machine for me because I lost my patience - not pretty. But once I get it going I was stitching everything in site!

April Blizzard

While we enjoy, most likely the last snowfall in Denver for this season, I noticed a small robin sitting on a tree branch trying to shelter himself from the enormous snowflakes that were falling fast and hard. The temperatures are supposed to warm up next week so I imagine this tree will look very different in the next 7 days from this vision of white that we witnessed today! Time to get back to my scrap room where the toasty heater is running.
